Tide Jewellery is made with the natural Abalone Paua Shell, the most sort-after amongst Abalone. Often referred to as the sea opal due to its striking blues, greens, pinks and purples, the ancient Maori people named the Paua Shell “The Gift Of The God Of The Sea”.
Most importantly the Paua Shell is never dredged or free-fished, only sustainably sourced as a by-product of the farmed fishing industry in New Zealand.

The natural swirls on the Paua shell change as they catch the light, creating the unique patterns enjoyed on this jewellery.
The base metal used is imitation Rhodium plating, which is hard wearing and hypo allergenic. The metal used for earring posts are stainless steel.
