Rail Fares to increase by 4.1% in January 2014 in England
Train Commuters are to face an above inflation increase in the cost of their regulated rail fares yet again in January 2014.
Regulated fares are those the government controls, and include season tickets, “anytime” single tickets around major cities, and off-peak inter-city return tickets.
They will go up by an average of inflation – as measured by the retail prices index (RPI) for July – plus 1%.
That will be an average ticket increase of £200.
Year on year Ministers say this increase is a necessary investment in the rail network …
yet year on year commuters face over crowded trains and trains not running to schedule.
These increases continue to eat in to people’s income …
along with the ever increasing food prices, and high fuel & energy prices.
Many commuters are now paying 20% of their wage on simply travelling to their job …
is it worth it?
But what’s the alternative?
How To Avoid … Rail Fares to increase by 4.1% in January 2014
Many people are now considering alternatives to the ‘traditional’ job …
looking at ways to work from home.
With many parents working at a distance from home they are watching their children grow up asleep …
leaving home before they are out of bed
and arriving home after they have gone to bed.
And with the continuing strains on many people’s finances some families are experiencing even less quality time together due to the need for second and for some even a third job.
Working closer to home helps remove the need for commuting time and cost and can be more rewarding because it can increase the time your family get to spend together.
So how about rolling out of bed in to the office?
Well I have been for the past 12 years and I would not change it for the world.
Becoming Self-Employed seems a daunting and scary prospect for many, but it really is the best decision I ever made.
There are so many opportunities out there, with all the support you need to make it happen, that this is a serious alternative to help you avoid the Rail Fares to increase in January 2014.
If you would like to change your lifestyle, being able to work when you want, where you want, and doing as much or as little as you want, and enjoying more time with your family, then why not check out how I now avoid alarm clock stress and other job-related diseases …
