Who would think that by sitting in bed until late morning that you could earn a good income! Well I do thanks to the effort I put into my business some 13 years ago.

Having worked for 15 years in a corporate environment with both the Natwest Bank and IBM, pursuing a management career, living and sleeping work, I was introduced to Network Marketing. I could immediately see how this was an opportunity to leverage my time, a way of working smarter not harder, and continue to be paid for years to come, can’t imagine a better pension.

I could see this would be an opportunity to be paid in years to come for the time and effort I was prepared to put in today, so unlike a job where once you leave your pay packet stops.

But the first company I joined was not for me but it took me 4 years to realise it! It involved selling and that simply wasn’t my cup of tea. However the personal development I gained through reading books, listening to tapes (as they were then), and attending training meetings was to prove extremely useful in the future.

When I discovered an alternative I jumped at the chance. Marketing a wider range of every day products which sell themselves off a page I decided it was worth a try, after all if you fall off your bike you always get back on.

I didn’t relish the work that was involved but I saw it as a means to an end, a way to now enjoy a lazy life 🙂

I would come home from a long hard day at work and where most people would put on their slippers and start enjoying a cozy evening with a bottle of wine in front of the TV watching all of the daily soaps I got changed and back out of my door in order to change my future.

Venturing out like an undercover agent I put in the work that was required. Investing time in both my business and on myself has now rewarded me with a fantastic work life balance.

So many people are willing to work hours and hours for a boss but not for themselves? Investing an extra 1-2 hours a day in myself has now put me in a position where I only work part time hours.

I no longer have to get up early of a morning, spend time dressing to impress, and then driving through rush hour traffic to reach the office.

I now get up when I choose, wear what I choose, work when I choose, watch TV when I choose, and most importantly take time off for holidays when I choose 🙂
